7eventh Time Down - Just Say Jesus

7eventh Time Down, active since 2004, are a band of Kentuckians who specialize in Christian rock and hard rock. Their 2015 song God Is On The Move stayed number 1 for five weeks, but Just Say Jesus is another of their popular songs.

Temperament that it hits on: Phlegmatic

Just Say Jesus hits on my phlegmatic because it encourages me to surrender all pride and place all of my hopes in Jesus, and phlegmatics are very good at this.

This song is probably the most relevant in our present day because there are so many hardships facing the world as a whole right now. Religious freedoms are being taken away and so many babies are being murdered by the second. I know that in the end good will conquer evil, and everybody who stays in a state of grace will be just fine when the end comes.

Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer

Bon Jovi, formed 1983, has been a remarkably popular band ever since. This song was a number 1 hit in 1987 and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Temperaments that it hits on: Phlegmatic / Melancholic

This song hits on my phlegmatic because I know that, even if I am in temporal or financial distress, I can still accomplish my ultimate end, Heaven, if I live a good life. It hits on my melancholic because Tommy and Gina still love and care for each other despite the hardships.

This song has a kind of funny part in it - "Tommy whispers, 'BABY IT'S OKAY!'" At any rate, this song makes me feel good because my family is in a pretty decent financial state and it reminds me of the fidelity that makes Saints.

Allan Sherman - Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh

Allan Sherman was a famous singer, song parodist, and actor who is most known for this song. The song is beyond famous, and you can probably tell why.

Temperament that it hits on: Sanguine

Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh hits upon my sanguine because it is just so funny. The song is very clever and makes me feel optimistic (because I don't have to worry about the camp) and happy.

Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh is one of the most famous novelty songs ever written. A 1963 release, it is truly a work of comedic art. In 1965, a board game, based off this song, was created.

Matthew West - Unplanned

Matthew West, active since 1997, has found tremendous success as a Christian singer. A number of his songs will be featured on this blog at some point.

Temperament that it hits on: Choleric

Unplanned hits on my choleric because I will not lie around while babies are being murdered, and this song fuels my faith and determination in that fight.

Matthew West's song Unplanned appears at the end of the Unplanned movie, which reveals the truth about planned parenthood and the backstory of pro-life advocate Abby Johnson. It is a good song. It thoroughly answers the most debated issue in modern society in but three minutes and 20 seconds.

Introduction

Hello, my name is Damien, and I have this little blog here called the Temperament Playlist. You may have heard of the four temperaments in the past. They are the personality traits if each individual. Everybody has a primary temperament and some traits of each (I personally am a choleric-melancholic). I will give you a brief overview of them in just a second. The study of the four temperaments is actually a pretty fascinating science to discover more about how God made us and what we are good at. I have chosen my favorite music and will publish them on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, or earlier if I can (I probably can) as long as I do not publish 24 hours before I am supposed to. I will publish the music with information on the artist, which temperament it "activates" and why, and some commentary. I am new to this and a little uncomfortable, so please do not regard anything I say here as absolute fact, but I do study the temperaments in my free time, when I'm not learning more about the history of baseball. I really enjoy baseball and have another blog called The Cooperstown Advocate (thecooperstownadvocate.blogspot.com) about the underrated players who should have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, in Cooperstown, New York. About a half dozen (or more) songs I publish on the Temperament Playlist will be centered around the great game of baseball. Now to introduce the temperaments. They are -

Cholerics are the guys who always seem ready to accomplish great things. They are not afraid of a challenge and will go to war in a second. Argumentive cholerics embrace anger when they don't get their way and are always right. A choleric can be disagreeable but can still be good friends and are highly productive. Cholerics make good bosses and leaders among other things.

Melancholics are usually very introverted and spend a lot of time thinking of the past and the future. Melancholics are dependable, sensitive, perfectionist, and they tend to love and hate more passionately than the other temperament types. A melancholic can hold back anger for a long time, but once he gets really ticked off, he can explode all over you. Melancholics make good financial advisors and scientists among other things.

Sanguines are very extroverted and love the social life. They are "people persons" and love fun, but they can also be impulsive and, though they usually don't mean it, they can easily hurt others' feelings. Sanguines make good daredevils, stuntmen, actors, car racers, and the like.

Phlegmatics are always trying to keep the peace and keep everybody happy. They are soft spoken and kind, but they can be lazy at times, not being close companions of pain or excessive work. Phlegmatics are pretty agreeable and thrive in high pressure situations. A phlegmatic would make a good emergency responder.

Most persons also have a secondary temperament type. It cannot, however, be your opposite temperament. Cholerics are the opposites of phlegmatics, and sanguines are the opposites of melancholics.
