Chuck Berry - Maybellene

Chuck Berry by and large instituted rock and roll in America. This song, released in 1955, was his first hit. 

Temperament that it hits on: Sanguine 

This song is full of energy and is very fast paced. The very definition of a wild goose chase, this song is a very good representative of the sanguine temperament. 

I guess this is what people in 1955 were always waiting for - car chases. Why not? 

Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name

Bon Jovi, one of the most recognizable names in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has sold more than 130,000,000 (130 million) records and performed over 2,700 concerts. 

Temperament that it hits on: Choleric 

This song implies that the singer is angry about something, and is not afraid to let his girlfriend know about it. This kind of bad judgement most often surfaces in cholerics. Hey, at least it's a catchy song, and can be interpreted differently. 

Whenever I hear this song, I think of a man overreacting when his wife does something that he doesn't like, such as making him turn of the football game for family time or something. It's kind of funny, I guess. 

Frank Sinatra - High Hopes

Frank Sinatra was one of the most famous singers of all time. He was at his peak in the 1940's, but was still big in the 1950's, when he performed this song. 

Temperament that it hits on: Sanguine 

High Hopes hits on my sanguine because sanguines are typically pretty hopeful and never give up. 

This song is fairly atypical of Sinatra, whose work is usually slow, serious, and boring (let's start the controversy!). Now this is about the only song of his that I like, but Sinatra's success spanned more than half a century, so I guess he did pretty well for himself. 

Stan Freberg - Little Blue Riding Hood

Stan Freberg was an actor, comedian, and musician active from 1943 until 2014, shortly before his death. He is best known for novelty records, such as this one, and for Looney Tunes (who would've thought?). 

Temperament that it hits on: Sanguine 

Little Blue Riding Hood hits on my sanguine because it is full of humor, and takes lots of unexpected twists and turns. This would all appeal to a typical sanguine. 

Did you catch that joke about Grandma's mustache? Not bad! 

Enuff Z'Nuff - Fly High Michelle

Enuff Z'Nuff has been continually recording since about 1984. They are a metal band, of course, best known for this song. 

Temperament that it hits on: Melancholic 

Fly High Michelle hits on my melancholic because it is full of emotion about this girl who died. You can tell that there are themes of sadness.

Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It

Twisted Sister was active from 1972 through 1988 and again from 1997 through 2016. They were one of the first and best known metal bands from the era. 

Temperament that it hits on: Choleric 

We're Not Gonna Take It hits on my choleric because cholerics are the ones who usually get mad when they are pushed around and don't like to back down. That's me, in case you didn't know.
